While it may seem counter-intuitive to think that writing about negative experiences has a positive effect, when you translate emotional experiences into words, it helps you change the way those events are organized in your brain.
Putting trauma on the page also separates it from you. You can pick it up anytime you want, but you are in charge. It is no longer inside your head or your heart, keeping you fixated and anxious.
And guided, detailed writing not only helps you process what you've been through, it can help you envision a healthy, happy pathway forward.
If you are ready to explore your story, for yourself or to help others, my FREE 3-part on-line writing workshop is for you.
